*TIEBREAKERS*
As a reminder-With several teams tied in the standings. I thought it might help if I reminded you of how tiebreakers work in the WCHA. The tie breaking rules are quite complicated as they provide details should not all teams play each other in 4 head-to-head regular season games, so Tim Bauer provided a condensed version of the rules below:
A) The team with the most points in head-to-head contests will be granted the higher seed.
B) If still tied, then the team with the greater number of conference wins (in regulation and/or 5-on-5 overtime) will be granted the higher seed.
C) If still tied, the recipient of the highest seed shall be determined by comparison of the points percentages of the tied teams, against the highest ranked WCHA teams successively, until the determination is accomplished.
D) If still not determined, the higher seed will be determined by a team’s “winning margin” during conference contests. “Winning margin” is *goals for* *minus* *goals against*.
