The Alaska Nanooks are in the Chicago area this week before heading over to South Bend, Indiana this weekend to take on the Norte Dame Fighting Irish in a non-conference matchup on Saturday (Noon Alaska Time) and Sunday (10 AM Alaska Time).

The games will be broadcast on radio and internet beginning with Bruce
Cech’s pregame show 15 minutes prior to the game. Or you can watch the
video stream (for free as far as we can tell) from a link on the Norte Dame
website.

More home hockey vs. Bowling Green State University

The Bowling Green Falcons come to town this weekend. As usual, the games start at 7:07pm both nights

There will be a coaches luncheon on Friday beginning at noon at the Carlson Center. Both coaches will speak. The menu is Roasted chicken with mushrooms and caramelized onions. Rosemary roasted potatoes and glazed carrots.  The cost is $15.

And, as usual the games will be on radio beginning with Bruce Cech’s pregame show at 6:30pm. Bruce’s broadcast can also be heard on the internet at 820sports.com or for a fee you can watch the video feed at WCHA.tv

Gov Cup Weekend

*UAF vs. UAA This Weekend*
Alaska Anchorage comes to town to face the Alaska Nanooks in the first two of four Alaska Airlines Governor’s Cup games. It’s whiteout weekend. So wear white and come enjoy the fierce rivalry of these two teams. As usual the games will start at 7:07pm

*Luncheon Friday*
Both Coach Ferguson and UAA Head Coach Matt Thomas will be at the Luncheon on Friday beginning at noon in the Pioneer Room at the Carlson Center.

Cost is $15. No word yet on what’s on the menu this week.

*Teddy Bear Toss Saturday*
The annual Teddy Bear toss will be held during the first intermission on Saturday. So, pick up a teddy bear to donate to a needy kid if you don’t already have one. All stuffed toys collected will be donated to local charities to make Christmas brighter for kids in need.

*Skate with the Nanooks/Cookie Social Saturday*
After the Saturday contest, there will be a Skate with the Nanooks and cookie social. So bring your skates and cookies to the game on Saturday, too. With that teddy bear your arms might be full.

*Radio/TV*
As usual, Bruce Cech will have radio (and internet audio) coverage of the games beginning with his pre-game show starting at 6:30pm Alaska Time both nights. Or, those of you who can’t be at the Carlson Center and want to watch the game can get the video feed at WCHA.tv for a fee.

Travel to Mankato, Minnesota

*GAMES THIS WEEKENDThe Alaska Nanooks leave tomorrow night to travel to Mankato, Minnesota where they will take on the Minnesota State Huskies this Friday and Saturday.   Both game begin at 4:07 Alaska Time.*

*As usual, the games will be on radio (820AM) and internet (820sports.com <http://820sports.com>) with Bruce Cech’s pre-game starting at 3:45 pm Alaska Time.  Locally, the games will also be broadcast taped delay on Fox-7.  The games will follow NCAA Football, which is expected to end at about 8pm on Friday and 7:30pm on Saturday.  Saturday’s game will be rebroadcast at midnight on Fox-7.*
